    NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

For the 2023 - 2024 school year, Evansdale School is full in planned classes in Grades 3 to 6 in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in Grades 3 to 6 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

    CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

If your child is currently in Pre-Kindergarten or K-6 at Evansdale School or another Edmonton Public School, you will need to pre-enroll on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between February 1, 2024 and March 22, 2024 at 4:00.

    Check out the Pre-Enrolment Checklist.

If you have questions about registering for school, contact the school office, 780-476-3331.

    LUNCH PROGRAM

Our school provides supervision during lunch and lunch recess on a regular or drop-in basis, as a service to parents.  Students are also allowed to go home for lunch, with parent permission.

Lunch fees ($13/month or $2/day) cover the cost of our lunch supervisors, additional custodial services and equipment.  For example, all outdoor play equipment used during the noon hour, videos and games for rainy days, soap, paper towels and other supplies are paid for with the fees.  Students typically eat in their classrooms.

Students staying for lunch are expected to behave in a respectful, responsible manner.  Students who are not cooperative will be asked to eat their lunch with another class or they may be temporarily or permanently suspended from having lunch at school.

Students who are attending a scheduled extra curricular activity, who do not regularly stay for lunch, will pay the daily fee.

    Breakfast and Daily Snacks

Evansdale School's breakfast program and daily snacks are such an important part of learning and student well-being at our school.  Having students with full stomachs promotes a healthy attitude toward learning.  In order to provide a nutritious breakfast and snacks to our students, we are extremely thankful to e4c and Food For Thought Edmonton (McKesson Canada) for making this happen.  Without the help of these wonderful people and organizations our students would not be afforded every advantage to achieve at school.

Students are welcome to come between 8:10-8:25 to enjoy a healthy breakfast before school starts.

Healthy snacks are available in the office throughout the day.

    GENERAL NUTRITION

In the interest of promoting good nutrition and dental care, the consumption of candy, soft drinks, and “junk food” is not encouraged in the school or on the playground.  We encourage parents to support our efforts and not include such foods in students’ lunches.  We wish to help our students make wise choices in their selection of foods.  Your assistance in helping your child make healthy food choices and in supporting this focus on nutrition by not sending such foods would be most appreciated.

Each year, we have a number of children with severe allergies that may result in life-threatening conditions.  As a result, certain precautions may be taken in the classroom and specific school areas, including the identification of a classroom as “allergy friendly”.  Parents and students are asked to adhere to the guidelines laid out in these instances.

Welcome

Welcome to Evansdale School!

We strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for all of our students and families and want to provide our diverse group of students with meaningful opportunities to grow as individuals and together as a group. This can only be accomplished through the combined efforts of our students, staff and families who, together, hold common expectations for appropriate student conduct and student learning.

We challenge our students daily to:

  • be the best that they can be by actively engaging in learning
  • accept their own and others' strengths and weaknesses
  • have fun while learning and celebrate success
  • see mistakes as an essential part of learning and growing
  • be accountable for their conduct and the development of positive relationships with others

Together, we create a sense of belonging where students feel safe, cared for, challenged and inspired to be their very best!

Terri Leedell
